On Monday, December 18, after being asked to run for the Virginia House of Delegates, District 48, just a few days prior to the deadline, Melody Cartwright met the deadline to send in all required paperwork by less than two hours in Richmond, VA. She was formally placed on the ballot and ran in the Special Election on January 9, 2024. There were five tornado warnings and hard rains throughout the election day. After running for only three weeks, she managed to bring in over 30% of the votes, which was slightly more than the percentage expected.
Melody never stopped running. Next election is November 4, 2025. Onward!
